Interesting article. I haven’t verified the sources but the author has a lot of footnotes. Feel free to debunk it.

American Form of Government

May 14, 2009

A short but concise video about different governmental structures. The masses have been conditioned by the Media and the government schools the founders established a democracy. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Not Yours To Give

April 26, 2009

In reading Ron Paul’s book, Pillars of Prosperity, I was impressed by his refusal to vote for well meaning but unconstitutional legislation. For example he opposed H.R. 3591, proposing a Gold Medal for Ronald and Nancy Reagan on the grounds that it was not the proper role of the Federal Government. Furthermore, he challenged the members of Congress to each contribute $100 from their own pocket and that would more than cover the $30,000 expense associated with awarding this prestigious medal. Not a single Representative who solicited his support for the bill was willing to contribute their own money toward the award.

Talking with the good Dr. Hansen after church today, the subject of an interaction between then congressman Davy Crockett and Horatio Bunce chronicled by Edward Sylvester Ellis arose, that surprisingly I had never read about. I hurried home and googled it and was fascinated at Crockett’s response when confronted by Bunce about a well meaning but unconstitutional vote in Congress.

The thing that always impresses me about Ron Paul is the fact that he is consistent. He is not swayed by the winds of political expediency, but is guided by his heartfelt convictions as they are supported by the Constitution. Most of his colleagues and apparently Crockett’s, could very possibly be or have been well-intentioned, but we must be careful to let the rule of law guide us. You remember what the road to hell is paved with. Crockett saw his gaffe for what it was and quickly made amends. I’m fairly convinced that would not be true for the majority of politicians today.

I thought the story was a great illustration of the principled approach taken by rare politicians like Paul and precious few others.

The Resistance

March 21, 2009

I attended my local BPOU convention Thursday night. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. We had a really decent turnout considering the fact that off-year conventions are usually poorly attended. That is too bad because that’s when the State Central Committee delegates and alternates are elected. The State Central Committee elects the State Party officers. They’re the one’s who gave us Ron Carey and Tony Sutton.

Even though I wasn’t elected (not surprising considering my comments tend to go against the grain of entrenched Republicans), most of the delegates and top alternates elected were good liberty-minded individuals. We had a couple of minutes to introduce ourselves to the convention and I was disappointed that many who think like I do were fairly subdued in their presentation of their positions. I guess that’s OK, since they were actually successful in gaining a spot on the Committee, but I really would like to see the “New Guard” be more bold in their presentation of their beliefs. I suppose covertness was called for. It looks like the resistance is in.

Hopefully others around the state will follow suit and get some new blood in their local organizations to reinvigorate the grass roots to topple the top-down hierarchy that currently is choking the State Republican Party. This state and this country will never be saved by politicians. It will be saved by the people rising up and demanding we return to the principles that once made this state and this country great. As much as I dislike party politics, it still remains the most viable vehicle to reestablish sound government and sound money.

Kudos to those who are willing to put forth the hours needed to reform the Republican Party. I will do what I can to help them in their efforts. Hopefully this blog will spark some action from persons currently not doing anything to advance our cause. You may be frustrated because you believe you as an individual can’t make a difference. Believe me, you can. Just by attending your precinct caucus you are virtually guaranteed a delegate or alternate position to the BPOU (Basic Political Organization Unit, typically a Senate district) convention. I have never not been seated as an alternate, so even as an BPOU alternate I have been a delegate to the State Convention on many occasions. All it takes is a couple of evenings and a couple of Saturdays. Please consider at least getting involved in that capacity next year!

Also, you can support your candidates financially. Even though I don’t like the program, since it is available you should take advantage of the State of Minnesota’s political campaign contribution refund program. The state will refund $50 for each individual contributing to a Political Action Committee or candidate. I prefer to contribute directly to candidates personally. Find a person you like and support them!

I met a man from India the other day who noticed my Ron Paul bumper sticker. I haven’t removed it yet because I think it still makes a statement. This fellow was sympathetic to my beliefs, but admonished me to appreciate the freedoms we are granted in this country. That made me think. I do appreciate the freedom we have. But it’s not granted to us. Our freedom is God-given and assumed, not granted by the government. The constitution is in place to restrain the government, not to grant us our freedom. That is the misnomer most Americans (or Americans to be in this particular case), believe.

We must educate and re-train the minds of the young people that have been molded by the government education system many of us have grown to despise. Many of the twenty-somethings out there are disillusioned by modern politics and the tired rhetoric they hear from both sides. They, like all young idealists, want something new and fresh. The interesting thing is what they really want is not new. It’s the time-tested ideas our founding fathers espoused. It’s up to us to rekindle the fire that once burned in the revolutionaries from the past.

The Resistance Movement is underway. Will you be part of it?

I had Shredded Constitution for breakfast

March 21, 2009

It’s agreed by many analysts that the courts will uphold the unconstitutional legislation passed to punish employees at AIG for rightly receiving the bonuses they had coming. You could make the argument that they don’t deserve them, but that’s not the issue. The constitution does not permit the federal government to interfere with private contracts. Oh wait, I forgot, the constitution is not being used anymore. Sorry to have bothered you.

The “War on Drugs”

March 21, 2009

Ron Paul’s wisdom continues to amaze me. Watch this as he blows actor Stephen Baldwin out of the water as he debates him on the failed “War on Drugs”.

How to spot “dangerous” militia members

March 21, 2009

Click here to read the Missouri Information Analysis Center’s (MIAC) Strategic Report on the Modern Militia Movement.

Scroll down a few pages and you will see that those who oppose illegal immigration, question the federal government’s authority, and support third party candidates like Ron Paul could be potential militants. Additionally, those who display anti-government propaganda or depict the New World Order in a derogatory manner are ones to watch.

This piece of garbage was printed at government expense and has been confirmed to be valid by many reputable sources. It was distributed to law enforcement agencies in Missouri. A concerned law enforcement leaked this even though it was meant to be sensitive material. If you are still wondering whether we live in a police state, this may remove your doubt.

Largest Government Spending Spree in History

February 7, 2009

I woke to my alarm clock radio this morning to hear that some so-called moderate Republicans have “worked” with Democrats to come up with a compromise bill in order to get the 60 votes needed to bring it to the floor for a vote. Wasn’t that nice of them to “reach across the aisle”? I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now. Their “compromise” consists of only spending 20 billion more than the house bill proposes. Way to go!

You need to look closely at this bill. There is nothing about it that will stimulate anything except politicians, big gubmint contractors and of course unionized government employees. This is the Democrats wildest dreams coming true in a single spending bill touted as a measure to save the economy. It will wreck economy and it will give me no pleasure to say I told you so. I only wish it would work, but it can’t.

Even the Congressional Budget Office has issued a statement saying this bill will do more harm than good. But Obama, Reid, and Pelosi (along with their friends Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, and Arlen Specter) don’t care what those telling the truth say. They want control and they are getting it. You people that voted for these idiots are in for a real wake-up call!

What most people don’t realize (or don’t really care to even know) is that your government has been slowly shifting control of the private sector to the government. To those that haven’t been paying attention (most people unfortunately) it has been barely perceptible. For the last two decades it has been happening, but this is a classic case of the boiling frog analogy. Now that we’ve been conditioned, they are taking bolder and larger strides towards that goal. Two trillion dollar plus spending bills in less than a year! And most people barely even blink.

If I didn’t know better, I would have to assume that most politicians are stupid, but that can’t be the case. Maybe there are a few brainless idiots, ( mentioned some above) but I digress. These people seem to be intelligent for the most part, so why can’t they see the proverbial writing on the wall? Why do I get it and they don’t? That’s the question I’ve been trying to find the answer to.

How does a ditsy sixties throw-back that continually spews out ridiculously idiotic leftist rhetoric become Speaker of the House? How does a Senator from the corrupt state of Illinois with obvious connections to radical leftists become President? Who votes for Harry Reid? There has to be more to it than this.

Are Bush Senior, Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama just front-men? Are they installed to do the bidding of those much more powerful than they? It is becoming painfully obvious to me that has to be the case. Their insidious methods employed for the last half century have worked. Their time is now here and they are taking every advantage to implement their evil plan.

The central planners know that all that is needed is a crisis to persuade the American people to believe the government can fix it for them. According to the president, we must do this “stimulus” bill or the economy will be irreparably damaged. And people believe it! According to our previous president we needed to pass the Patriot Act for our “safety”. And we bought into it! We would do well to remember the quotation that is inscribed on a plaque in the stairwell of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

It is not too late. While we still have at least the semblance of a Republic we must do something about it. Write, call and/or email your representatives and senators. Tell them you will not stand for this any more. Support liberty minded individuals at all levels of government or run for those positions yourself.

The destruction of our currency is well underway. The systematic loss of our freedom and liberty has been occurring for decades. We have been conditioned to believe that world government is the solution to our problems. We spend trillions around the world to maintain our empire, but can’t even patrol our own borders. Our children are being taught that guns are bad and government is good. The media, rather than being the watchdog of government has become the government’s cheerleader. The powerful are attempting silence the dissenters by proposing another version of the “fairness doctrine”.

It is time to arise from our slumber and restore our great nation. It can be done. WAKE UP AMERICA!!

The value of the dollar

February 6, 2009

The dollar is being systematically devalued. This is a super article that concisely explains how gold is a hedge against the upcoming hyperinflation. Take a few minutes and read it.

Right vs. Left?

January 30, 2009

It should now be clear to you that the right and the left are no different. If you buy into the Right vs. Left dog and pony show you had better reconsider your way of thinking. Of course I’ve been saying that for a long time, but few heed my opinion. That’s their choice and it will give me no joy to tell them I told you so.

Both sides are again collaborating on perpetuating the welfare/warfare state we are mired in. They are succeeding in their quest for world government and hardly anyone even blinks. Now that the house has passed the “stimulus” bill, the Republicans are complaining that the Dems didn’t want their version of the bill. Why aren’t the Republicans out and out decrying any sort of “stimulus” bill?

The right continues to rant about abortion and lower taxes and their version of big government. The left whine about suffering social programs and the lack of freedom of “choice”. The rhetoric from either side is all that differentiates them. The right has got to understand they are missing the bigger picture. I believe they are generally well intentioned, but unless they comes back to the principles of freedom, liberty and limited government, none of their other pet issues will matter. Don’t get me wrong, I am a strong abortion opponent and I have a firm belief in cutting taxes, but those issues are under the larger umbrella of individual freedom and liberty.

With the proposed new government spending bill we are seeing before our eyes the outright destruction of our currency and hardly anyone cares. A little inflation is good right? We have seen what the continual increase in the money supply and artificially low interest rates have brought us. Bubbles. This will simply be another bubble but when it bursts there will then be no way to fix it. The only way to fix it now is to establish a sound monetary policy and stop the government from intervening every time there is a hiccup in the economy.

There will be recessions. They happen for a reason. Do you think typewriter manufacturers and buggy whip makers experienced a recession before they passed on into extinction? The economy is always in a state of flux. There is a natural business cycle. The Federal Reserve has created an unnatural business cycle that has failed every time!

Don’t believe that government make-work jobs are going to lift us out of the economic doldrums we are currently in. We would have come out of the Great Depression much sooner if we would have substituted proven “Old” economic and monetary policy instead of the “New Deal”. This “stimulus” bill is the modern New Deal. The only ones who will be stimulated by this are politicians and big business who stand to gain huge by winning big government contracts.

All this is happening by design. Oh, I know some of you are thinking, “he’s a conspiracy nut.” You may be right, I actually hope you are. But can’t you see that everything the government is fast-tracking is funneling more money and power to government, big banks and Wall Street? They’re not using it to prop up the average working guy. It’s all about control and power.

I continue to be amazed that the American People will vote for these big government politicians over and over again. Doesn’t anybody get it?! I know there are a few of you reading this that actually do get it and do care about the loss of our freedoms and liberty. The question I have for you is, “Will you do something about it?”

This is a great way for me to rant and expose what is going on, but I don’t have the time or the resources to inform you about everything you need to know. Read Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Lew Rockwell, Alex Jones, and other freedom-minded individuals. These guys have been for the most part right in their predictions. They believe in the principles that made this country great.
